Nakano Note (Nakano wa Kangaeru noda) NK 1826 P/Pigott-LINEAR-Kowalski (1783 W1 = 2003 A1 = 2009 R2)

The following improved orbital elements, by S. Nakano, are from 206 observations 1783 to 2009. Perturbations by Mercury to Neptune and three minor planets, Ceres, Pallas and Vesta, were taken into account. The weighting mean residual is +/- 0.81 arc second. The identification of P/2003 A1 = 2009 R2 was suggested by Dimitry Chestnov on Comet_ML. The comet has made 34 revolutions between 1783 - 2009 and passed 0.0564 AU from Jupiter on 2006 Sept. 10.3 UT. A linked orbit between 2003 - 2009 is satisfying within about 1.4 deg for 1783 observations which were sent from Maik Meyer provided by Gary Kronk in 2003. See the previous orbits in NK 919 (= YC 2387) and NK 1317 (= HICQ 2008/2009; with the delta-T correction = -60.7 days, RunOff value = +15.4 deg for R.A. and +8.0 deg for Decl.).
