Nakano Note (Nakano wa Kangaeru noda) NK 4157 P/Novichonok-Gerke (2011 R3)

Recovery observations in 2020 were found on MPEC M114 and P019 (2020) and the following improved orbital elements, by S. Nakano, are from 412 observations 2011-2020. Perturbations by Mercury to Neptune and three minor planets, Ceres, Pallas and Vesta, were taken into account. The mean residual is +/- 0.61 arc second. The residuals of recovery observations on 2020 June/July were +65" for Right Ascension and +8" for Declination from the prediction in NK 3980 (= HICQ 2020) with the delta-T correction = -0.17 day. The comet has passed 0.87 AU on 1992 Oct. 24, 0.11 AU on 1993 Aug. 21 and 0.45 AU on 2005 Apr. 25 UT from Jupiter around its perihelion. Also comet was within 1.44 AU from Jupiter on 2011 September observations. Orbit on 1973 was T= 1973 06 21.8, q= 5.244, e= 0.275, Peri.= 335.7, Node= 201.1, Inc.= 17.9, a= 7.231 AU, P= 19.4 years.
