Nakano Note (Nakano wa Kangaeru noda) NK 4518 P/Scotti (2011 A2 = 2021 Q2)

The following improved orbital elements, by S. Nakano, are from 252 observations 2011 to 2021. Perturbations by Mercury to Neptune and three minor planets, Ceres, Pallas and Vesta, were taken into account. The mean residual is +/- 0.66 arc second. Residuals of recovery observations were -16'.0 for Right Ascension and +1'.8 for Declintion from the prediction in NK 2493/3673 (= HICQ 2015/2021) with the delta-T correction = +0.79 day. The comet was not recovered on 2016 return. The comet has passed 0.89 AU from the Earth on 2011 Apr. 3 UT and 0.41 AU from Jupiter on 1986 April.
