OAA computing section circular NK 919 D/1783 W1 (Pigott) = P/2003 A1

The following improved orbital elements, by S. Nakano, are from 89 observations 1783 - 2003 except 55 observations which were made at the near 2003 perihelion (Jan. 15 - Feb. 10) and also 1783 observations were made from a published orbit, including planetary perturbations by Mercury to Neptune and three minor planets, Ceres, Pallas, Vesta, and non-gravitational effect of style II. Comet has made 33 revolutions during 1783 - 2003. The weighting mean residual is +/- 2.21 arc seconds. Note, To confirm the identification of D/1783 W1 and P/2003 A1, former two linked orbits are better than this linkage. One is gravitational solution (OAA/CS EMES published on 2003 Jan. 18) and another one is non-gravitational solution (OAA/CS EMES published on Jan. 29).
