◎51P/Harringtonの軌道と予報位置 [From YC 2591]
今年6月に近日点を通過したこの彗星が2008年7月28日にカテリナ,7月29日に
クレットで再観測されました.彗星のCCD全光度は,カテリナでは15.8等,クレット
では14.8等と観測されています.彗星の再観測の位置には,予報軌道(NK 961)か
ら赤経方向に+0゚.36,赤緯方向に+0゚.14のずれが見られ,近日点通過の補正値にし
て儺=-0.93日でした.儺が大きかったのは,彗星は,1994年にB核とC核,2001年
にD核に分裂しており,さらに2003年10月24日に木星に0.37 AUまで接近した影響に
よるものでしょう.
なお,D核は,2001年の分裂時には最大15.8等級(そのときのA核とほぼ同程度)

◎51Pの軌道と予報位置です
上尾の門田健一氏は,この彗星の今期初めての観測を7月1日に行ない,
同4日にこれを確認しました.氏による CCD全光度は,それぞれ,15.1等,
14.9等でした.彗星は,コマが 20"ほどで,中央集光のある拡散状,西南
西の方向に1'〜2'の淡い尾が見られるとのことです.
なお,彗星は,1994年に分列核A,B,C核が観測されています.氏の
観測は,A核のようです.彗星の位置は,NK678 の予報軌道から赤経方向
に +194",赤緯方向に+63"ほど離れていました.近日点通過への補正値は,
ΔT=-0.14日でした.予報では,C核は,A核からΔT=+0.86日の位置に
います.
なお,1994年に報告された次のC核の観測は,A核のものです.
