Nakano Note (Nakano wa Kangaeru noda) NK 4645 P/PANSTARRS (2017 R1 = 2022 B2)

The following improved orbital elements, by S. Nakano, are from 79 observations 2017 to 2022. Perturbations by Mercury to Neptune and three minor planets, Ceres, Pallas and Vesta, were taken into account. The mean residual is +/- 0.36 arc second. Residuals for the recovery observations were +32" for Right Ascension and -12" for Declination from the prediction in NK 4192 with the delta-T correction = -0.10 day. The comet has passed 0.048 AU from Jupiter on 1979 June 23 UT. Before this close approach, comet had an orbit of T= 1978 10 21.3, q= 5.354 AU, e= 0.262, Peri.= 91.6, Node= 22.3, i= 2.1, a= 7.259 AU, P= 19.6 years. Although there is no close approach before 1960, but comet had an orbit of q= 5.74, e= 0.06, Peri.= 316, Node= 63, i= 4. See the previous orbits in NK 3541, NK 4192 and CBET 5100 (same orbit).
