Nakano Note (Nakano wa Kangaeru noda) NK 5280 P/Spacewatch-PANSTARRS (2014 MG4 = 2024 K2)
The following improved orbital elements, by S. Nakano, are from 209 observations 2013 to 2024. Perturbations by Mercury to Neptune and three minor planets, Ceres, Pallas and Vesta, were taken into account. The mean residual is +/- 0.59 arc second. Residuals for recovery observations were +121" for Right Ascension and -26" for Declination from the prediction in NK 3261 (= HICQ 2019) with the delta-T correction = -0.17 day. The comet has passed 0.050 AU from Jupiter on 1955 July 28. Before this close approach, comet had an orbit of T= 1909 07 27, q= 5.288 AU, e= 0.581, Peri.= 186.9, Node= 321.0, i= 8.1, a= 12.61 AU, P= 44.8 years.
