◎C/2003 S4の軌道と予報位置です



  スペインのマンテカによると,この彗星の再観測がフェランドによって,

9月24日と25日に行なわれ,この彗星が分裂していることを観測しました.

核Aの核光度は20.5等,核Bの核光度は21.0等級とのことです.現在,核B

は,核Aより,およそ,8”ほど東に位置しています.下の予報にある光度

は,HICQ 2004からのもので,彗星は,この予報より暗いのでしょう.

◎C/2003 S4の軌道です



 久万の中村彰正氏の10月17日の観測が報告されました.氏の CCD全光度は,

18.5等で,氏の観測は,以前の軌道(9月26日〜10月2日)から赤経方向で

-2",赤緯方向で +34"を示しました.軌道改良の結果,彗星は,軌道長半径

a=40 AUを動く,周期が 250年ほどの長周期彗星でした.最近,その周期が

200年〜300年ほどの彗星が多く発見されますが,この程度の短い周期をもつ

長周期彗星も多数存在しているのでしょう.
